TOBA TEK SINGH: Four members of a family were killed in an accident on the fog-bound motorway on Saturday night.

Rescue 1122 reported that six members of a family of Khairpur (Sindh) were on their way home from Islamabad by their car when the driver failed to see a trailer and their vehicle hit it between the interchanges of Gojra and Toba Tek Singh on M-4. All the car occupants were injured and, officials said, four of them had expired before a rescue team reached there.

They were identified as Saima Perveen , 35, wife of Muhammad Zubair, their son Huzaifa, 9, and daughters Hafza Bibi, 5, and Mishra, 13. Zubair, 39, and his son Hamza, 7, were taken to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital in a critical condition and doctors referred them to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital.

In another incident, union council secretary Muhammad Ahmad, a resident of Chak 670/11 GB, was on his way to village from Pirmahal when his motorcycle collided with a motorcycle-rickshaw. He was injured and admitted to Pirmahal Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A motorcycle-rickshaw driver died when a car hit him near Gojra. Police said Boota Masih was carrying passengers from his village to Gojra city when a speeding car hit him on a link road as a result of which Boota died on the spot while five passengers were injured and hospitalised.

In yet another tragedy, a mini-truck hit a motorcycle-rickshaw on Toba- Gojra Bypass Road. The three-wheeler driver Arif was injured and later died.

On Pirmahal-Kamalia Road, an accident left four members of a family — residents of Pir Inayat Shahwala — injured. They were first taken to the THQ hospital and then to the DHQ hospital owing to critical condition.

TRAIN TIMING: The timetable of Badar Express which runs between Multan Cantonment and Lahore has been changed with effect from Sunday.

It started from Multan Cantonment at 4:30pm daily but the new time is 3:30. It will now reach Lahore at 10pm instead of 9pm because of three additional stopovers — Farooqabad, Bhalike and Darul Ihsan railway stations.
