GUJRANWALA, Oct 7: The students of Rachna Engineering College, Jora Wazirabad, on Friday protested against its administration for not organizing their practical and theory tests and instead locking the institution.

Around 400 students and their parents have expressed concern and said an academic year could be destroyed if examination was not held.

They demanded that the Punjab governor and other high ups should conduct an impartial inquiry into the issue and take action against the officials concerned.

College principal could not be contacted for comments.

MURDERED: A pregnant woman and her husband were clubbed to death by her brothers over marriage issue in Aroop town on Friday.

Farzana and her husband Azhar were present in their house in Kot Khizar when accused Arshad and Ashraf came there. They attacked them following an exchange of hot words and escaped after killing the couple on the spot.

Police removed the bodies to the DHQ hospital for autopsy where it was revealed that the woman was pregnant.

NAZIM THANKS: Newly elected district nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha on Friday thanked councillors and assured the people that he would resolve their problems at their doorstep.

He said at a meeting of councillors that they expressed their confidence in him and he would not let them down.

He said he would complete pending development projects.

Meanwhile, ARD candidate former MNA Abdullah Virk alleged that the ruling party was involved in rigging.
