SWABI: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan announced Rs220 million for further upgradation of Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor here on Wednesday.

He made the announcement at the inauguration ceremony of the newly established wards in Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor. He was accompanied by National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, provincial ministers Taimur Saleem Jhagra and Shahram Khan Tarakai, and other parliamentarians.

The chief minister inaugurated the newly completed building in Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor, the teaching hospital of Gajju Khan Medical College Swabi.

He said that the ruling party initiated and completed several projects in the district and many more were on the cards because he considered Swabi his second home after his home district Swat.

The chief minister said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf won all five provincial and two National Assembly seats in the district and the elected representatives were focusing on the welfare projects in the district. “Our main objective is to serve people and meet their demands and wishes,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Asad Qaiser said that the politics of opposition and ruling party was totally different because the PTI leadership was focusing on the welfare of people while the opposition leadership wanted to accumulate wealth at the cost of poor. He added that opposition parties ganged up under Pakistan Democratic Movement to protect their looted money.

“I have no assets beyond my position despite remaining in power for over seven years while the opposition leaders have used different tactics to get wealth. We are proud of our stand and position” he added.

Mr Qaiser said that they pledged to provide modern health facilities to people and inauguration of new ward was a proof of their commitment. He added that provision of facilities to people became possible through the generous support of provincial government and the role of chief minister was important in that regard.

Taimor Jhagra said on the occasion that government concentrated on provision of adequate health facilities to people. He said that provision of Sehat Sahulat cards to the entire population of the province a proof of their pledge.

He claimed that government fulfilled all the promises made with the people during the election campaign. He said that they fulfilled the pledge to provide modern health services to the people.
