KARACHI, Oct 7: The Federal Investigation Agency on Friday arrested two alleged human smugglers and seized a large number of passports and national identity cards of jobseekers from their possession.

Officials said Deputy Director of FIA Passport Circle Mohammed Malick had received information from an intelligence agency regarding the racket.

Accordingly, they added, an FIA team raided a house in Model Colony, and arrested Hanif Ahmed. The same team later arrested another suspect, Zafar Urooj, on the lead given by Hanif, from the same locality.

Their arrest led to the recovery of 57 passports, 17 CNICs, 16 stamps of NBP, MCB and income tax department, a sizeable quantity of bank statements of MCB, NBP, Citibank and Standard Chartered Bank, blank visa forms of different foreign missions, one blank visa sticker of Australia, one blank visa sticker of New Zealand and several blank letterheads of different companies.
