LOWER DIR: The Dir Scouts thwarted a terror bid by recovering arms and ammunition during a search operation in Jabagai Qandary area of Mayar here on Friday, official sources said.

They said on a tip-off the personnel of the 185 wing of Dir Scouts Samarbagh carried out a search operation and recovered arms and ammunition, including six rocket launcher shells, two hand grenades, 338 rounds of 12.7MM, 455 rounds of machine gun, four shell fuses, a machine gun barrel, two mortar shells, two hand grenade fuses and one kilogramme of commercial explosives. The ammunition was dumped in a deserted place in the nearby hills.
