ISLAMABAD, Oct 6: The government will set up a new industrial zone in Balochistan to facilitate industrialists and promote new industries in the province. This was stated by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in a meeting with a delegation of industrialists from Balochistan, who called on him at the prime minister’s secretariat here on Thursday.

An official announcement issued here said that the government was focussing to provide the necessary infrastructure to the already-existing industrial estates in Balochistan.

The premier said that establishment of a new industrial zone in Balochistan would help create new job opportunities in the province and further enhance economic activity.

Mr Aziz said that the government was encouraging the private sector to come forward and benefit from the pro-industry and business-friendly policies of the government and establish new industries.

The prime minister emphasized on the need to promote vocational and technical education in order to overcome the shortage of skilled manpower for industries and business.

He said that the federal government in collaboration with the provincial government would fulfil all necessary requirements of industrialists so that industries could flourish in Balochistan.
