BAHAWALPUR: Hasilpur police claimed on Thursday to have arrested three of the six suspects, including a woman, allegedly involved in the gang-rape of a young girl and a bid to remove private parts of a man at 193/Murad village on Jan1.

At a press conference here, Superintendent of Police (investigation wing) Rab Nawaz Tullah said that according to complainant Asghar Ali, five armed men, including two main suspects, barged into his house and gang-raped his sister.

Ali alleged that the suspects also attempted to remove his private parts at gunpoint.

About the motive of the crime, the SP said the prime suspect had relations with Ali’s wife Najma Bibi.

He said the suspect had been pressurising Ali to divorce Najma, but on his refusal he, in connivance with Najma, gang-raped the complainant’s sister and attempted to remove his privates.

The SP said Najma, along with two other suspects had been arrested, and the police were looking for the others. He added that an FIR(No2/21), under sections 376 and 459-11of the PPC had been registered against the suspects.
