LAHORE, Oct 6: In a major secretary-level reshuffle on Thursday, the Punjab government posted provincial home secretary Hasan Waseem Afzal as additional chief secretary in place of Khushnood Akhtar Lashari, who was made OSD.

Implementation and coordination secretary Khusro Pervaiz was also changed and posted as home secretary. He has been replaced by additional secretary (finance) Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera as I&C secretary.

Health secretary Rashida Malik has also been replaced and made secretary prosecution. She has been replaced by Javed Malik, the board of revenue member.

Chief secretary Salman Siddique will hold the charge of the post of finance and taxation principal secretary in addition to his own duties.

Finance department special secretary Tariq Bajwa will look after the work of finance secretary in addition to his own duties.

These high level changes in the provincial civil secretariat are being attributed to the sudden change of the chief secretary a couple of days ago.

Official sources said the changes were an expression of new chief secretary Salman Siddique’s desire to bring his “own men” at the key posts.
