SUKKUR, Oct 4: Important disclosures have been made owing to fleeing of 10 prisoners of the Sukkur central jail-I while returning from the District and Sessions Court Khairpur on Sept 10.

Most wanted criminal Bangul Mirbahar was also among the prisoners who was sent to court while changing the date of his hearing.

The jail officials have been issued show-cause notices following revelation of difference in the date of hearing.

It may be mentioned that during the inquiry regarding involvement of the jail administration and police in fleeing of ten prisoners while returning from the district and session court, the above disclosure came into light.

According to the record, most wanted bandit Bangul Mirbahar was scheduled for hearing on Sept 16.

The court had also issued a letter in this regard and when the letter reached in the central jail-I, the “6” of “16” was changed into “0” and his date of hearing become Sept 10 instead of Sept 16.

He was sent to the court along with other prisoners on Sept 10 where from they escaped.

Khairpur TPO investigation Muneer Shaikh said the relevant record had been seized by the inquiry team.

Sources termed bandit Bangul Mirbahar as a mastermind who managed to flee along with nine other prisoners.

DIG Prison Major Ghulam Hussain Khoso sent the inquiry report to the IG Prison Sindh.

The DIG issued show-cause notices to assistant superintendent Malik Mohammad Ayub and senior clerk Bagh Ali Panhwar, who were responsible for sending prisoners for hearing.

Sources said a head constable of the Police Lines was missing since the day of fleeing of prisoners and it was said that he played vital role in changing the letter of court appearance regarding bandit Bangul Mirbahar and escape of the prisoners.
