TNSM workers hold rally

Published January 21, 2002

TIMERGARA, Jan 20: Workers of the banned Tehrik Nifaz Shariat-i-Muhammadi took out a protest procession and held a public meeting at Maidan here on Sunday.

At the end of the meeting, the angry TNSM workers pelted the personnel of law-enforcement agencies present at the scene with stones. However, no one was injured in the incident.

The administration also made elaborate arrangements to check any law and order situation. Earlier, addressing the demonstrators, TNSM leaders criticized the government for arresting workers of religious organizations, demanding that the victimization drive must be stopped forthwith, otherwise, a protest movement would be launched against the government.
