DHAKA, Oct 3: Several explosions rocked three southeastern districts of Bangladesh on Monday, killing two persons and wounding 20 others, including two judges. Police alleged that Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh was behind the explosions in courtrooms of Chittagong, Chandpur and Lakshmipur districts.

In Lakshmipur, two bombs exploded inside the court of joint district and sessions judge Abu Sufian at about 11:45am. Witnesses said the first bomb was thrown at the judge while the second one was detonated in the corridor within a minute.

Ten people, including the judge, were rushed to hospitals where an 80-year-old man, Mujibul Huq, hailing from Raipur, died.

Soon after the blasts, police arrested Mamun, 22, in the court room. In the second incident, Hashim Bakaul, a witness in a case, died in the courtroom after bombers hurled two bombs during the hearing of a case in Chandpur.

Police arrested two students, Sohrab Hossain Bilal and Abul Kalam, in connection with the attacks.
