ISLAMABAD, Oct 3: Pakistan and Romania will sign on Tuesday a protocol of joint government commission for economic, technical and scientific cooperation between the two countries.

The decision was taken in the 18th Pak-Romania Joint Government Commission meeting started here on Monday. Pakistan’s Economic Affairs Division Secretary Khalid Saeed and the secretary of state ministry of economy and commerce, Romania, represented their respective countries in the meeting.

An official announcement said that during the meeting it was decided the protocol would be signed at the concluding session of the commission.

Both sides agreed to take full measures for further strengthening the economic cooperation between the two countries. Latest developments in economic fields of the two countries were presented by the heads of delegations.

Both the sides expressed the hope that the 18th session of joint commission would have a fruitful exchange of ideas on a broad range of issues.

The joint government commission, established under an agreement on economic, technical and scientific cooperation and signed in 1973, has played an important role in identifying new areas of cooperation and overseeing the implementation of agreed projects.
