Doctor dies of coronavirus

PESHAWAR: One more doctor died of Covid-19 here on Wednesday amid increasing number of positive cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Additional director of Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital, Bannu, Dr Mohammad Farooq had contracted coronavirus infection a few weeks ago and was put on ventilator in a private hospital in Peshawar. He breathed his last on Wednesday.

Paying tribute to Dr Farooq, Provincial Doctors Association, Khyber Pakhtunkwa, said that so far 25 doctors and 40 other health staff members had died of coronavirus in the province.

It said that senior clerk of Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad, Shaukat Hussain also died of coronavirus.
