LAHORE: ‘Disgruntled’ PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday called on its president Shehbaz Sharif at Model Town here on Monday and condoled with him the death of his mother.

It was the first meeting of Chaudhry Nisar with any member of the Sharif family after ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif was deposed in 2017. The relations between the old friends — Nawaz and Nisar — turned sour following the former did not adhere to the advice of the latter over mending fences with the establishment.

Chaudhry Nisar was elected MPA in the 2018 election but he is yet to take oath.

Former ministers Zahid Hamid and Muhammad Ali Durani, Mushahid Hussain Syed, and ANP leader Haider Hoti also met Shehbaz, former army chief retired Gen Raheel Sharif telephoned him and condoled with him the death of his mother.

The opposition leader in the National Assembly was released on Friday from Kot Lakhpat jail along with his son Hamza on a five-day parole to attend the funeral of his mother and receive the people coming to offer condolences.
