KARACHI: Three-year-old chestnut colt Thunder King is likely to start as favourite in the Colts and Fillies Trial Cup when it takes place in the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Thunder King had won last four races on trot including the Early Bird Cup with wide margins.

Among the five contestants in the term race for three-year-old Pak Colts and Fillies, three-year-old bay colt Classic Leader may pose challenge to Thunder King in the race to be contested over seven furlongs.

Classic Leader had registered a length and-a-quarter victory over Gladiator to win the Iqbal Day Cup last week.

A healthy card that envisaged six races has been drawn for the days meeting.

As many as 50 odd horses will make their appearance barring last-minute withdrawal(s).

The first race starts at 1:30pm.
