SHEIKHUPURA: Five armed men abducted a 20-year-old girl from her home where her engagement was going on and injured three members of her family in Narang Mandi Saddar Bazaar on Sunday.

Dozens of members of Irfa’s extended family were present at her house to participate in the engagement function when five armed people, including Irtiza, appeared and opened indiscriminate firing. As a result of the firing, the girl’s uncle advocate Mudassar and two other members of her family were injured.

The attack caused a panic in the party and the guests ran away to save their lives. The attackers took the girl away in a pick-up.

Irfa, daughter of Almas, was earlier engaged with Irtiza, a resident of Shahdara, and her family broken the engagement. She was being engaged by her family for marriage with another man.

Narang police registered a case on the report of the girl’s father.

District Police Officer Mubashar Makan took notice of the incident.
