LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has slammed the opposition’s tirade against state institutions, saying they are insulting the mandate of people.

“Those who are spewing poison against the institutions are the enemies of the country and the nation,” Mr Buzdar was quoted by an official handout as saying.

Following the treacherous narrative of the anti-Pakistan agenda that reflects the mental ignorance of some so called leaders, he said those damaging national interests could not be called leaders.

He said: “Those who are damaging national interests cannot be called leaders. The people are fully aware of who is wrong and who is right.” He said the opposition was pursuing an agenda to destabilise the country. An ‘unnatural’ alliance of 11parties has no value in front of a prescient leader like Imran Khan, he said, adding the alliance of opposition parties was hatching a conspiracy to stop Pakistan from achieving sustainable development.

The chief minister said those who were raising the slogan ‘give respect to vote’ had themselves destroyed its sanctity during their tenures.

According to him, the opposition has only one agenda and it is to save its leaders’ wealth accumulated through looting and plundering. The opposition parties had completely ignored the national interests, he added.
