PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman here on Saturday sounded optimistic that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government would be ousted by December.

Mualana Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who is also chief of Pakistan Democratic Movement, an alliance of 11 opposition political parties, said that prolonging the imposition of the incumbent government could be dangerous for the country’s stability, according to a statement issued by the party here.

He expressed these views while addressing the meeting of the JUI-F provincial council at Mufti Mahmood Markaz, provincial headquarters of the party here. Besides others, the meeting was also attended by JUI-F provincial general secretary Maulana Attaul Haq Darwash, Abdul Jalil Jan and Maulana Ahmad Ali.

JUI-F chief says all member parties stand firm by PDM narrative

“All parties of PDM stand firm by its narrative that the previous general elections were rigged and as result of which the selected government was formed,” said the JUI-F. He said that federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments had not only failed to provide relief to people but also ruined the economy.

After the successful rallies from the platform of PDM in Gujranwala, Karachi and Quetta, the upcoming rally in Peshawar would prove a referendum against the selected government of the PTI, said Mr Rehman.

He said that the PDM’s rallies worried the government and in response Prime Minister Imran Khan and government’s spokesperson were busy in maligning opposition leaders just to hide their failure.

“The people and government employees are compelled to take to the streets owing to flawed policies of the incompetent government,” he said. He added that the opposition parties launched the campaign for saving Pakistan, stability of Constitution, supremacy of law and institutions and getting rid the country and people of the incumbent government.

Despite rigorous propaganda of the government against the PDM, Mr Rehman said, it still stood firm on its joint narrative. The downfall of the selected government was nearer, he added.
