BHC rejects plea for removal of Langove’s name from ECL

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court on Wednesday rejected a constitutional petition filed by former provincial finance minister Khalid Khan Langove for removal of his name from Exit Control List (ECL).

Mr Langove, along with other accused, is facing a reference for embezzling local government funds.

The BHC bench comprising Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Zaheer Udine Kakar heard the petition.

The accused had pleaded in his petition that he wanted to go abroad for medical treatment and performing Umra.

The NAB prosecutor informed the learned court that the reference against the accused was in its final stage, while there was a ban on performing Umra.

He requested the court that the name of accused should not be withdrawn from the ECL till the pronouncement of judgement in the case.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court dismissed the petition.
