LOWER DIR: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq said here on Thursday that government failed to control crime, inflation and unemployment.

He was talking to local journalists during his visit to the house of a two-year-old child, whose body was found at a hill in Sharab Kohi area of Adenzai two days ago. He expressed his grief and anger over the murder of child.

The JI chief condemned the inhuman killing of the child and demanded of the government to arrest the culprits, amend Zainab Alert Act and protect the lives of citizens especially children.

He said that government failed on all fronts. He asked the Muslims across the globe to boycott all French products to protest the publication of blasphemous caricature in France.

The JI leader demanded of provincial police chief to take serious notice of the incident and arrest the accused.

He said that government should ban all vulgar websites in the country as those were misleading the youth.

Sirajul Haq for amending Zainab Alert Act

PROTEST: Jamiat Tulba Islam, the student wing of the JUI-F, on Thursday held protest rallies in Timergara and Chakdara against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in France.

The rally in Timergara was addressed by JUI-F district emir Ameer Sirajud Din, Haji Shakirullah, Maulana Mohammad Nabi Shah and others.

The rally in Chakdara was addressed by Maulana Gul Rahim, Javed Iqbal, Shah Hussain and others.

Islami Jamiat Tulba, the student wing of JI, also held protest demonstrations in different parts of the district against the French president for supporting the blasphemer.

WALK: The directorate of student societies, University of Malakand, on Thursday organised an awareness walk and seminar on prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

The faculty members and students of the university participated in the event. They were carrying banners and placards.

Addressing the seminar, Dr Fauzia Samad, oncologist at Fauji Foundation Rawalpindi, highlighted various strategies for prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

Meanwhile, former cricket star and preacher Saeed Anwar visited the university and delivered a lecture on the role and responsibilities of the Muslims.

Later, a walk was also held against the French government for supporting the blasphemous caricatures.
