UNITED NATIONS Sept 27: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Munir Akram met Secretary General Kofi Annan on Monday to discuss the process of implementation of UN reforms adopted by world leaders at their summit two weeks ago.
“It was a follow-up discussion to move the implementation process forward”, Mr Akram told Pakistani journalists.
He said: “We want to remain involved on the reform agenda, particularly on poverty reduction and implementation of United Nations development goals, management reforms, peace building commission and the human rights council”.
Following the summit, Mr Annan reflected: “Leaders did not deliver everything I had asked for. But the summit did produce some remarkable commitments.
