KARACHI, Sept 27: Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of a water supply scheme for Bilal and Gulzar colonies, Korangi Town.
About 6400-feet pipelines of 14 inch diameter would be laid at a cost of Rs6.651 million.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr Bukhari said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was practicing ‘politics for serving people’ and had therefore always preferred to serve the people.
He said that on the directives of the MQM chief Altaf Hussain development projects were initiated in the province without any discrimination and the Sindh government had the credit of launching highest number of uplift schemes.
MPA Mohammed Moeen Pirzada said the MQM was the only party which was struggling for the rights of 98 per cent people of Pakistan, which were being usurped by only 2 per cent of the privileged people.
Former naib nazim UC No 1, Korangi Town, Haq Nawaz Sarhadi criticized the previous city government and said that because of the cold attitude of the former city and town nazims the two colonies and Sector-8 remained without the basic facility of water.
He thanked the MQM launching the water supply scheme.—APP
