THIS is apropos the letter of ‘Sadequain’s works’ (Oct 4). I would like to draw your attention to the fact that not only Sadequain’s paintings are being pilfered, but hundreds of fake specimens of his masterpieces are being produced across the globe.

Such frauds are conning the art lovers and making huge dents in their pockets. Many reputed institutions in Pakistan, which once adorned Sadequain’s paintings, have been robbed of such art pieces.

Should anyone need an elaborate report on the topic, it is within one’s means to furnish the names of such institutions and allied details. It would be apt to quote Anwar Maqsood here that Sadequain, in comparison to his life, produced more paintings after his death.

If need be, additional details with sufficient and convincing evidence can be readily provided.
