Younis, Yousuf named skippers

LAHORE, Sept 26: Pakistan vice-captain Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf (formerly Yousuf Youhana) were on Monday named to lead the Pakistan XI that will feature in matches against Peshawar Panthers and Karachi next month as preparation for the winter home series against England.

Yousuf will captain the side against Peshawar Panthers in the four-day fixture at the Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar from Oct 8.

Younis, who will lead Peshawar Panthers, will skipper the Pakistan XI against Karachi in the other four-day tie at National Stadium from Oct 16.

Test reject Hasan Raza has been appointed as Karachi skipper.

PAKISTAN XI: Muhammad Yousuf (captain), Salman Butt, Shoaib Malik, Hasan Raza, Bazid Khan, Asim Kamal, Kamran Akmal (wicket-keeper), Abdul Razzaq, Mansoor Amjad, Shahid Nazir, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Asif.

PESHAWAR PANTHERS: Younis Khan (captain), Arshad Khan, Umar Gul, Yasir Hameed, Riaz Afridi, Wajahatullah Wasti, Riffatullah Mohmand, Shoaib Khan, Akhtar Sarfraz, Ahmed Saeed (wicket-keeper), Fazle Akbar, Waqar Ahmed, Janisar Khan, Aftab Alam.
