Two policemen killed in road accident

SHIKARPUR, Sept 26: Two police constables of the district jail were run over and killed by a Punjab-bound bus near the Sindh Canal bridge on Sunday night. They were identified as Ali Ahmed Bhutto and Rustam Khalidi. The bus was coming from Sehwan Sharif.

The driver, Kora Khan Bapar, was arrested by the New Foujdari police. The police also impounded the bus. The bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.

SEMINAR: A seminar on polio eradication was organized by the district health department here on Monday.

MNA Dr Ibrahim Jatoi was chief guest on the occasion.

Dr Yehya Mustafa, WHO representative for the northern Sindh presided over the function.

Dr Altaf Abbasi told the audience about activities and programmes of anti-polio campaign in the district.

Dr Ibrahim Jatoi and Dr Yehya Mustafa stressed upon officials to hold gatherings with students and their teaching staff as well as to organize public meetings at rural and urban areas to educate people about the anti-polio programme.
