KARACHI: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Saleem-uz-Zaman has said that increase in hike of K-Electric tariff approved by the federal government would put more burden on already struggling industries as well as on the domestic consumers.

The industry had been asking to reduce energy prices as it directly affects the cost of production, which is a real challenge, he said, adding that the industrial sector was expecting a relief from the government after suffering heavily during Covid-19 pandemic.

He said that on one hand the government was offering stimulate package for the industry while it is increasing power energy tariff on the other hand.
