SWABI: A model court here on Saturday sentenced to 14 years imprisonment a gunman of a local ANP leader in the murder case of a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf worker, and declared the main suspect in the case as a proclaimed offender.
The court also imposed Rs290,000 fine on Jan Mohammad, the gunman of absconding ANP leader Ameer Rehman.
Shahzeb was shot dead in a polling station of Karnal Sher Khan Kallay by ANP candidate Ameer Rehman after an argument during the 2018 general elections with the gun of his guard.
Three people, including Shahzeb’s father Mukhtiar Khan, and PTI workers, Shahzad Khan and Saleem Khan, were injured in the incident.
Soon after the incident, then PTI chairman and incumbent Prime Minister Imran Khan had assured the victim’s family of justice.
