SAHIWAL: Chichawatni Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Ghafoor Chaudhry on Saturday handed down death sentence on two counts to a youngster in double murder case of two transpersons along with a fine of Rs2 million.

Reports said convict Zubair brutally tortured and killed Muhammad Ashfaq (30) alias Nadia and Salman Rasheed alias Muskaan and managed his escape.

Harrapa police on the complaint of Nadia’s elder brother Nadeem Iqbal found decomposed bodies of the transpersons at the house of Nadia on July 27, 2019 and registered a murder case against unidentified suspects.

Harrapa SI Rana Fayyaz, lead investigator of the case, collected forensic data and arrested Zubair near a factory he worked as an electrician.
