KARACHI, Sept 26: Five vessels carrying steel cargo and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. A single-session cargo of 0.283m tons was handled surpassing the previous high mark of 0.155m tons. Unlike the previous records, bulk of total, 0.217m tons went to the credit of import tonnage, notably general cargo at 0.146m tons followed by export tonnage totalling 67,566 tons.

Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where nine ships, Sagamore, Maersk Arizon, Tryburg, Kota Mesra to unload containers, Islamabad, Sunrise Ocean, to offload and load general cargo, Swat to unload crude oil, Darya Raag, to unload steel cargo and Fu Zhou to offlod sugar were berthed after the departure of 12.

The vessels, which departed included Kota Teguh, Lykes Racer, Elbe Oldendroff, Wan Hai-263, Sagamore, Iran Kordestan, Lalazar, Maersk Arizon, Tinai, Apollan, Pretty Flourish, and Swat, while Gulf Horizon, Tryburg, Atlantic Express, Sunrise Ocean, Kota Mesra and Shalamar are due to sail out on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Star Inventana, with steel cargo, Ever Guard, Yang Jiang He, Eax Sanctity, and APL Cario, with containers.
