TANK: The livestock department in collaboration with the USAID on Tuesday distributed chicken among 1,560 families of Gomal Zam Dam’s command area to help them enhance their livelihood capacities.
Deserving families of Sheikh Uttar, Gomal, Mamraiz Jamal, Ranwal and other command areas received the package consisting of eight hens and two roosters at a function in Ranwal village.
On the occasion, deputy director livestock Dr Mohammad Zafar said the initiative was taken on the directives of the agriculture minister and the secretary agriculture to provide help to the poor families of the command area of Gomal Zam Dam to enhance their livelihood capacities.
SHOP GUTTED: A shop was gutted in a densely-populated area of Elahi Abad on Tuesday.
Grocery shop owned by Sohail Ahmad caught fire in the wee hours of Monday, burning a motorcycle parked inside and other valuables.
The police and rescue teams reached the spot and extinguished the fire. No loss of life was reported.
