KARACHI, Sept 25: On the directives of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, the city government is developing a beach-park, from Shireen Jinnah Colony to Sindhbad, at Clifton. According to a statement issued here on Sunday, the city government is developing a beach-park from Marine Drive to the city beach, in Clifton blocks I, II and III.

It said that the Sindh chief secretary had imposed Section 144 to ban movement of heavy vehicles on Marine Drive, Clifton, in a bid to minimize the number of road casualties and provide maximum safety to the visitors.

The ban also restricts parking of trucks, dumpers and other heavy vehicles on the Marine Drive.

Speed breakers are also being constructed between Shirin Jinnah Colony and Bilawal Chowrangi, a city government handout said.

The city government has asked owners to shift their vehicles and other related assets from Marine Drive (Clifton, blocks 1 and 2) and adjacent roads within three days otherwise authorities would remove their property at the owner’s expense.

It also said that the government would not be responsible for any damage caused during the exercise.—APP/PPI
