KARACHI, Sept 24: An anti-terrorism court indicted on Saturday four accused in a kidnapping and murder case. Judge Arshad Noor Khan of the ATC-3 fixed Sept 24 for recording the statement of prosecution witnesses after accused Fayyaz alias Papu, Mohammad Rehan Khan, Abdul Jabbar and Imran pleaded “not guilty”.
According to prosecution, accused kidnapped Mohammad Ali on Oct 10, 2004 in North Nazimabad and demanded Rs2.5 million for his release from the family.
As the family could not arrange the ransom, the accused killed the hostage and later his body was found at a desolate place in Sohrab Goth.
ACQUITTED: The additional district and sessions judge, South, Ms Farzana Anwar Shah, acquitted four accused in an arson and attempt to murder case.
Khawaja Naveed Ahmed and Tariq Hamza appearing for the accused pleaded that their clients were implicated in a false case.
Syed Ahmed Shah, Syed Khurram Shah, Syed Babar Shah and Shaikh Hasan Shehzad were booked by the Garden police on complaint by Hakim.
