LAHORE: The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Saturday announced results of matriculation exam under the grading system introduced due to extraordinary circumstances in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

As many as 237,000 students sat the examination in 2020. Of them, 171,596 were declared successful with the pass ratio 71.51pc.

The results were uploaded on the BISE website www.biselahore.com. The candidates can also know their results by sending an SMS to 80029.

Addressing a press conference, BISE Chairman Prof Riaz Ahmad Hashmi referred to the problems faced by the board in devising a system to announce results due to the pandemic because marking of the answer sheets was not allowed. He said the board officials had worked hard to prepare the result in a transparent manner.

“We have devised the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to mark the papers and implemented the government policy about practical examinations,” he said.

Mr Hashmi added that 50pc marks of practical examination were allotted to all the students while remaining 50pc were given on the basis of their papers.

BAHAWALPUR: BISE Chairman Dr Mazhar Saeed announced the result of the annual matriculation examination.

Out of 83,221 students who appeared in the exam, 66,504 were declared successful, showing a pass percentage of 79.91.

The announcement further declared that all the 9th class candidates who had submitted their admission forms for examination, which could not be held due to the Covid-19, had been promoted to the next class. They would now appear in the annual matriculation examination 2021.

DG KHAN: The BISE announced the result of matriculation with 85pc candidates getting success. As many as 32,899 girls and 45,899 boys had sat the exam.

BISE Chairperson Dr Kishwar Naheed along with staff concerned announced the result.

GUJRANWALA: The BISE announced the result of the secondary school examination.

BISE Chairman Dr Tariq Mehmood Qazi and controller examination Nasir Mehmood Awan held a press conference.

Mr Qazi said 215,208 candidates appeared in the exam out of which 168,251 were declared pass with the pass percentage of 78.18.
