SHIKARPUR: Protest against World Bank

SHIKARPUR, Sept 23: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Zain Shah Group) observed a token hunger strike against the World Bank’s offer to finance the controversial Kalabagh dam project on the Indus River here on Friday.

They were led by JSM divisional president Abdul Haleem Mahar and district president Naseer Ahmed Mangi.

STP leader Irshad Jalbani, social worker Mian Zafar Alvi, Saeed Soomro (PPP-SB), Mohammad Paryal Mari (HRCP), Dr Wazir Ghunjio (AIP) and others visited the camp and expressed their solidarity with the JSM in this regard.
