HYDERABAD, Sept 23: A large number of radio artists, announcers, comperes and musicians staged a sit-in outside the local press club and the radio-station building against the station director.

They were chanting slogans for his removal.

Speaking on the occasion, Saleh Mohammad Shah, Zaib Sindhi, Qadir Bux Mithoo, and Ashraf Baloch accused the station director, Fakhar Baloch, of misbehaving with them and showing uncivilized attitude especially with the female artists.

The artists said that they would return the ‘excellence award’ in protest if the director would not be removed.

They said that their struggle would continue till their demand is met.

SECURITY FORCES: The Anjuman Mazareen Punjab has accused the security forces of committing inhuman atrocities with the peasants of Punjab.

Speaking at a news conference at the local press club on Friday, the general secretary of the ‘Anjuman’ in Okara, Mr David and the deputy secretary, Mr Samaoon, said that one million peaceful peasants of military and civil farms were being terrorised and subjected to violence by the forces to grab their lands.

The government wanted to allot these lands to the army personnel, they said.
