TAXILA: The body of a woman was found from a deserted place near the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway at Badhana Kallan in the limits of Taxila police on Monday evening.

Mohammad Jameel reported to the police that his 40-year-old wife, mother of three, left home for a nearby housing society where she worked as a maid.

When she did not return, the husband approached the family with whom she was working, and was informed that she had not reached her place of work.

Subsequently, a search was launched and the body of the woman was found dumped in a field near the motorway. She was strangled to death and her body bore marks of torture, according to the FIR.

Police reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for an autopsy.

Later, City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Mohammad Ahsan Younas along with Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Division Syed Ali visited the crime scene and supervised the investigation and collection of evidence.
