KARACHI, Sept 22: The 21st National women’s hockey championship which begins at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) Stadium on Friday will form criteria for selection of 44 probables for national camp which is being set up after the holy month of Ramazan.
The venue of the camp will be announced in due course of time, Mrs Shahida Jamil, chairperson of the PHF women wing said.
She informed that Pakistan team would be picked for competing in an Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) International (Under-18) hockey tournament being held later this year.
Shahida who also heads Sindh women’s hockey association said an AHF women’s umpires seminar is being held here from Sept 28 to Oct 2.
Apart from foreign delegates, it would be attended by Pakistani women hockey umpires and help them raise their level, she added.
The AHF has nominated Kamisuki Masako from Japan as course conductor.
She disclosed that so far five foreign delegates have confirmed their participation. They were Lynn Norhana Binte Hassan and Miskamalia Binte Mohd Ariffin (Singapore); Tooba Ilbeigi Asli and Shahla Bashtasbi Nia (Iran) and Suman Lata (India).
