ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: Air supremacy in the present day conflicts decides the fate of a war and the recent wars of Afghanistan and Iraq are ample testimony to this fact.

This was stated by Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, while addressing officers and cadets at the PAF Academy, Risalpur.

We are duty bound to ensure that the aerial frontiers of the country are secure and our countrymen are able to live in peace and security, the air chief said.

He said the air force played a decisive role in the defence of a country. We must build ourselves strong enough to deter the enemies of our country. In order to give strength to the PAF, the aviation cadets, the future leaders of the PAF, must realize the heavy responsibilities which they are going to shoulder in the near future when they will join the officer-corps of the PAF, the air chief said.

Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat reminded the cadets that core values of the PAF had been defined in unambiguous terms and they must not lose sight of them. He urged upon the cadets to work hard and make optimum use of the training facilities being provided to them at the academy which was a premier training institute of the PAF.

Cadets must carry out their studies, flying training and other professional training with full devotion and high sense of commitment. They must endeavour to achieve excellence

in their performance, he added.—Our Reporter
