Two Darul Aman women recovered

GUJRANWALA, Sept 21: Satellite Town police produced on Wednesday two women in a court who had ran away from Darul Aman after recovering them from Sumundri area. The court sent the women back to Darul Aman on judicial remand on the same day.

Reports said five women had escaped from the shelter along with their children after breaking a bathroom window two weeks back. Police had recovered one of the women, Sakina Bibi, from Bhatti Bhango village on the same day, while the remaining women could not be traced out.

The police raided a village in Sumundri area on a tip off and recovered Gulshan Bibi and Shehnaz Bibi.

KILLED: A woman was stabbed to death over a land dispute at Chanawali, Alipur Chattha, on Wednesday.

Reports said Zubaida Bibi was attacked by Shahadat Ali with a knife in her house. She died on the spot. The accused escaped after killing the woman.

Police have registered the case and are investigating.

burn injuries: As many as three women sustained burn injuries when their clothes allegedly caught fire while working in kitchen in and around the city on Wednesday.

Reports said two sisters, Sadia and Sidra, of Hafizabad road and a mother of four, Nargis, of Bakhatewala, were preparing meal in their kitchens when their clothes caught fire due to gas leakage. They were rushed to the burn unit of local DHQ hospital in critical condition.

CHILD LABOUR: The private sector should help the government in elimination of child labour and begging from the society.

This was stated by Child Protection and Welfare Punjab director Prof Zubair Ahmad Shad and District Coordination Officer Khalid Masood Chaudhry at a workshop organized by the department here on Wednesday.

They said the government would soon extend special bureaus for elimination of child labour and begging to district level.
