KARACHI, Sept 21: Steps for maintaining stability in prices of milk, meat, vegetables, fruits and other essential commodities were discussed at a meeting, held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman, here on Wednesday.

The meeting also reviewed legal action being taken under the Profiteering and Hoarding Ordinance and Amendment in Pure Food Ordinance, 1960.

DCO Fazlur Rehman and EDO Enterprise Raisuddin Paracha assured of taking effective measures to check the prices during Ramazan in coordination with concerned associations.

In the meeting, Secretary Local Government Ishaq Lashari was appointed as focal person for amendments in the related ordinance.

The chief secretary directed EDO Enterprise to push ahead action in this regard so that amended ordinances on profiteering and hoarding could be issued before Ramazan.—APP
