GUJRANWALA, Sept 20: The Federal Investigation Agency on Tuesday arrested a human smuggler. Reports said Nadeem Husain, Abdul Rehman, Muhammad Nazir, Muhammad Yar and Hamid Ali of Gujranwala and Mandi Bahauddin paid hundreds of thousands of rupees to agent Sheikh Safdar Husain for sending them Greece. The agent reportedly left them in a ship near Turkey.
When none of them contacted their families for months, Muhammad Zaman, father of Nadeem Husain, approached the FIA.
The agency conducted a raid and arrested Sheikh Safdar Husain from his house. Investigation has been started.
Man killed: A landlord was shot dead while five others were injured by their rivals over an agricultural land dispute in Wahando on Tuesday.
Reports said Khalid was present at his outhouse along with his supporters when Falak Sher and his 14 accomplices came there and opened fire following an exchange of hot words.
As a result of which, Khalid died on the spot while
Irshad Ahmad, Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Abdullah, Karamat Ali and Ghulam Murtaza were rushed to DHQ hospital.
Wahando police have registered a case and are investigating.
PAPERS REJECTED: The nomination papers of PP-96 candidate, Tahir Iqbal Cheema, were rejected by the returning officer when he could not produce his BA certificate here on Tuesday.
However, the court accepted papers of the remaining five candidates.
The constituency had fallen vacant after the Lahore High Court had disqualified MPA Mian Mazhar Javed because of his fake BA certificate.
