BAHL profit rises 62pc

KARACHI: Bank AL Habib Ltd’s (BAHL) on Monday reported profit-after-tax of Rs7.23 billion for the half-year ended June 30, 2020, up 61.96 per cent compared to Rs4.46bn for the corresponding period last year, the bank’s press release showed.

The bank’s earnings per share (EPS) was recorded at Rs6.50. Meanwhile, profit-before-tax rose 41.61pc to Rs12.1bn whereas profit before provisions and tax was reported at Rs14.28bn.

The bank’s net mark-up income improved by 38.65pc.
