LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 19: The health department has finalized arrangements for the anti-polio campaign scheduled to commence on Sept 27. Executive District Officer, Health, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Khan Marwat, told journalists after a meeting held here on Monday that decisions had been taken to assign tasks to the department’s staff for making contacts with parents, mobilization of civic organizations and seeking support from teachers and religious leaders.
He said the district had been divided into 12 zones and 55 area units, where 281 mobile, 45 fixed and six transit teams would launch door-to-door campaign to achieve the target of vaccinating at least 129,577 children below five years of age with anti-polio drops.
He said the campaign would also cover the Lakki Frontier Region. “Monitoring teams have been constituted to keep vigilance on the health department’s teams and ensure administration of drops to the children,” he said.
