KARACHI, Sept 19: Seven ships carrying DAP fertilizer, steel coils and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. A record number of vessels totalling over a dozen, which was said to be the highest-ever single-day berthing, which were berthed including CSA, Asia and New Anhui to unload sugar, Antoine to offload coal, Al-Barakah, Sagmore, Perisa, Ataraxia, Iran Shaharya, Thor Captain, Itha Buhm, Asian Trader, Mearsk Arizona, European Highway to unload cars, Norwave and Sutra Tiga, to offload oils were berthed after the departure of six.

The ships, which departed included Paraskevi-2, Bum Woo, Jipro Dream, Persia, Sagamore, Al-Barakah and Matina, while Asian Trader, European Highway, Hounslow-2, Freida Selmer and Antoine are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage of 0.141m tons comprising 15,541 tons of export cargo including 3,274 tons of rice and 0.125m tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Morning Sky, with 40,920 tons of DAP fertilizer, Carolina, to load 8,800 tons of cement, Pangani, with project cargo, Bunga Delima, APL Dalian, with containers, Glorious Sun, with steel coils and Cargo Enterprice, with steel cargo.
