LAHORE: Out of total 7,274 samples of the suspected patients of the Covid-19 obtained and sent for analysis during the last 24 hours in Punjab, 183 tested positive for the virus, taking the total number to 94,223 across the province.

Of 183 cases, Lahore reported 40, Rawalpindi 16, Sialkot 14 and Bahawalpur 10. Other cases were reported from Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Attock, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur etc.

According to official figures, released by the health department, only two patients of the virus died in Punjab, taking the death toll to 2,166 so far.

Of the total deaths, most of them occurred in three major cities, i.e. 831 in Lahore, 362 in Rawalpindi and 218 in Faisalabad.

Similarly, the confirmed cases of the virus were also reported from the same three cities, i.e. 47,838 in Lahore, 7,557 in Rawalpindi and 5,825 in Faisalabad.
