SWABI: Five people, including a passerby, were killed in an attack here, police said on Saturday.

Officials said the incident occurred in Mohallah Sultan Ahmad Khel. They said Saddam Khan, Arsalan Khan, Salman Shah and Muntazim Shah were on way to Maneri Bala village from Maneri Payyan on two motorcycles when they were attacked by rivals.

SHO city police Farooq Khan told Dawn the victims were attacked when they were entering Maneri Bala region. He said all the four were killed on the spot as they were shot in faces and chests from close range.

He said Salman and Muntazim hailed from Charasadda district and were staying with the former.

During the firing, he said an 18-year-old person identified as Fahad Khan, a resident of Maneri, was seriously injured and was taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex Shahmansoor. Later he was referred to a Peshawar hospital, where he died.

Fazal Ghani, father of deceased Arsalan, got registered an FIR against Afaan Khan, Rashid Khan and Imran Khan of Maneri Bala village, stating that cause of the incident was an old enmity.
