GUJRAT: The court of an area magistrate sent the former Gujrat additional deputy commissioner revenue (ADCR) on 14 days judicial remand on Friday.

Dr Rani Hafsa Kanwal, who was booked and arrested by the Anti-Corruption Establishment on charges of illegal transfer of the state land to private persons in Gujrat around a year ago, was produced before the special court of anti-corruption in Gujranwala on Friday but the duty judge again directed the ACE to produce the suspect to the area magistrate for physical. At this, she was brought to Gujrat again.

Magistrate Qadeer Butthad earlier sent Ms Kanwal on judicial remand after which she was kept in the circuit house.

However, the short order was yet to be issued by the court till filing of this report to make it clear whether Ms Kanwal was to be sent to the district jail or circuit house would be declared as a sub-jail.
