KARACHI, Sept 18: Five-year-old bay horse, Keen Winner, came up with flying colours to upset the applecart in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at Karachi Racecourse on Sunday. Featuring in the seventh and concluding race of the programme, Keen Winner who was ranked outsider with no credentials, surprised the pundits winning the six furlongs competition by 2 ½ lengths.

Three-year-old filly, Fantasia, tipped to win the race, was scratched leaving eight contenders to vie for the honours.

Chestnut, Lucky Golden, who was on course for a hat trick, was denied the opportunity by half-bred Fascinate in the third race.

Order Of The Day was placed second while Lucky Golden had to be content with third place.

Meanwhile, a punter clinched the jackpot and got richer by Rs43,000, while the Karachi Race Club has fined six horse riders for ‘unsatisfactory riding’.
