NORTH WAZIRISTAN: People of a small village in North Waziristan district observed Eidul Azha by offering Eid prayers and slaughtering animals on Thursday.

The people of Haiderkhel village of Mirali tehsil of North Waziristan offered Eidul Azha prayers in the village’s mosque and exchanged Eid greetings with each other.

Members of a local Ruet committee said that the Eid was declared to be observed on Thursday after five people had testified that they had sighted the Zilhaj moon.

In some areas of North Waziristan the Eid will be observed on Friday (today), while in other parts of the merged district the festival would be celebrated on Saturday.
