KUWAIT CITY: Oct 14: Kuwait on Sunday stripped Sulaiman Abu Ghaith of his nationality for appearing on Al Jazeera television as a spokesman of the Afghanistan based organization Al Qaeda.

The decision was taken during the weekly session of the cabinet, which was chaired by acting prime minister and foreign minister Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah.

The statement issued after the cabinet session said that Kuwait in its national interest and according to its constitution revoke the citizenship of Abu Ghaith, who appeared as spokesman for Al Qaeda organization.
